We offer consulting services on building facades to Owners, Architects, General Contractors and exterior wall sub-contractors . Our input early in the project design can help to produce a building skin that is aesthetically pleasing weather-tight and durable over the years. We have experience with the most commonly used exterior materials including masonry, aluminum, corrugated metal, dimension stone, glass and panelized systems. .
The Consulting services we can offer are:
- DESIGN ASSISTANCE: We offer specifications, preliminary engineering and test procedures. We can review the design for conformance to the latest building codes, floor deflections and drift and offer input to coordinate the systems of all the trades involved in producing the exterior skin . We can also review proposal drawings and later in the project the shop drawings for conformance to the project requirements.
- SYSTEM REVIEW: If we are not involved in the design of the project, we can review the contract documents and specifications to determine the practicality of the design and if the design meets the aesthetic requirements.
- PERFORMANCE TESTING: We offer specifications for the testing of the wall systems and for individual components of the system such as the stone. We will witness the testing, assist in resolving problems and document our findings.
- JOBSITE INSPECTIONS: We offer inspection to ensure the installation matches the approved design and conforms to the tested mock-up. Again as a part of this service we will assist in resolving any problems found and document what we find.
