Detailing affects the quality, cost, durability, ease of manufacture, ease of assembly, maintenance costs and complexity of a finished product no matter what that product may be .
Buildings used to be nice and square and the structure was pretty uniform. With the use of computers to aid in the design of buildings the structure has now been minimized, resulting in a lack of uniformity in size and placement of structural members. The new design tools have also assisted the architectural designers in making the buildings more dynamic. These developments make the design and installation of the facade more challenging. We understand the meaning and the result of good detailing. In order to achieve our detailing goals a thorough examination of the building's geometry, the relationship of the structural frame and accommodated movements to the skin has to be done. After doing this we then suggest the methods and details that will resolve most of the conditions. It then becomes necessary to adapt to the rest of the conditions.
We consider the total cost of the installed facade not just the material costs. Very often spending a little more in one area will save much more in another. A thicker, heavier anchor that works everywhere is easier to use and less expensive to make than custom sizing every anchor specific to its condition. Because of die and minimum run requirements, formed stainless steel stone anchors are usually less expensive on a small project than extruded aluminum, where extruded aluminum is more cost effective on a larger project.
We have systems parts (such as Schüco, Wicona, Hartmann, SAS, Hueck, Raico, Jansen) and standard parts drawn and stored in libraries that we utilize to build a library of parts specific for each project. If you have a system that you use we will make a library of parts specifically for your company. We understand the need for confidentiality of your proprietary designs.
